A modern take on the classic stovetop tea kettle, this uniquely designed item features a thermal-shock-resistant glass carafe that not only allows for viewing water as it boils, but that also helps ensure pure-tasting water--no chance of imparting off flavors to the water like with metal kettles. To use, simply fill with up to 12 cups of water, snap the lid into place, and place on the range to boil. The kettle's lab-quality borosilicate glass can be used on gas or electric stovetops; the included metal heat diffuser, shaped like a three-leaf clover, should always be placed between electric range coils and the glass carafe for safety. The kettle also provides a stay-cool lid that whistles to indicate when water has reached a full boil, and it removes easily with a slight pull of the small, curved handle when it's time to pour. Other highlights include a large heat-resistant phenolic handle that offers a secure grip, a drip-free spout for graceful serving, and a rugged design that cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.
